Discover Bleisure Travel in Rhineland-Palatinate!

In the “Bleisure Cities” of the Convention Bureau Rhineland-Palatinate you can work on your work-experience balance and turn your business trip into a little holiday! But what is Bleisure Travel actually?

It’s quite simple: “Bleisure” is a combination of the terms “business” and “leisure”. This means a business trip combined with a subsequent or preceding private stay. It is the perfect way to combine work and leisure and to discover new places.

The Rhineland-Palatinate “bleisure cities” of Mainz, Koblenz, Trier, Ludwigshafen, Worms, Landau and Zweibrücken offer just that. Nestled in the picturesque topography of Rhineland-Palatinate with its vineyards, valleys, forests and river landscapes, they combine the charm of imperial history with warm hospitality. With the special atmosphere of the lively city centres, a relaxing break in nature and world-famous wineries, Rhineland-Palatinate has much to offer before or after a meeting or congress.

Rhineland-Palatinate’s Bleisure offers are divided into the three thematic fields of enjoyment, culture and nature:

Koblenz, with its location on two rivers, attracts visitors with a breathtaking view of the city and the Rhine Valley. The Ehrenbreitstein Fortress Cultural Centre can be reached by Europe’s largest cable car north of the Alps and offers a varied programme for visitors with excellent events, concerts and exhibitions.
Hiking enthusiasts will get their money’s worth in Worms on the Rhine Terrace Trail. The hike leads from cathedral to cathedral through the Rhine-Hessian sea of vines with further historical sights in Germany’s largest wine-growing region.
A unique group experience awaits you in Trier with Germany’s largest gladiator school. In Trier’s amphitheatre you can train in the gladiatorial fights of antiquity in two-hour, half-day or day workshops.
Art lovers are in good hands in Ludwigshafen. A collection of over 10,000 exhibits awaits you in the Wilhelm Hack Museum. The museum’s unmistakable landmark is the Miró Wall on the outside façade with 7,200 ceramic tiles.
In Zweibrücken, your pulse will pick up after a conference. The Zweibrücken State Stud, founded in 1755, offers horse races, mare shows, stallion approvals, horse galas and jumping competitions. Or get to know the stud farm with its 13 hectares of historic grounds and over 260 years of history on a guided tour.
Experience wine culture in Landau, the largest Riesling growing area in the world, with over 2,000 hectares of vines. Here you get a wine tasting directly from the producer and get to know the regional winegrowers personally.
You can experience the state capital Mainz with a boat or raft trip on the Rhine and feel the “Mainz feeling” with a sundowner on the water overlooking the city. The offer is ideal for events in locations directly on the Rhine.
