Ever since I started working in television, I have always had to do with travel. The TV formats, which I only presented in the beginning and later produced in parts, almost all took place abroad. In this way I became a travel professional, with the aim of making the most of every trip. Every year I travel for TV productions, for Bleisure Traveller and privately for about 200 days a year. That’s a lot of days, a lot of airlines, hotels and discoveries, but also a lot of disappointments and wrong booking decisions.
\nThe Bleisure Traveller is the experience I have gained around the globe over the last 30 years. I travel for business, but still want to get to know the country, the people and the cultures \u2013 and to relax or combine life and work for several weeks in a faraway place. Being free and soaking up diversity \u2013 for me, that only happens in its purest form when I’m travelling. And professionally, I have probably always sought this as well: whether during my studies in cultural studies and communication, later as a hospitality editor, or today as a freelance journalist for various magazines and co-founder of Bleisure Traveller. Until 2017, I spent many years looking over the shoulders of the creators of travel experiences as editor-in-chief of the hotel trade magazine First Class, was on the road a lot, experienced and discussed many trends with many participants. And one thing has stayed with me for a long time: that people today are looking for more meaning in their work, that they want to be valued \u2013 and that professional travel should be more for them than just rushing from A to B. Travelling, living and working for a few days or several weeks in faraway places. For new perspectives, ideas, energies.
