Corona has forced many hotels to close down temporarily. But the Mandarin Oriental, Munich in Munich closed in spring 2020, mainly to renovate the 73 rooms and suites \u2013 the most extensive measures in 20 years. The new room concept was designed by the Hamburg design office cm-Design as a mix of historical and new. In collaboration with the art historian Dr. Sonja Lechner, all rooms and suites are also decorated with an individual mountain image by Felix Rehfeld. The suites also feature a mountain relief by K\u00f6nigliche Porzellanmanufaktur Nymphenburg. There are also numerous new technical gadgets and services, such as the champagne service, which is offered every afternoon by the trolley directly in the room. “We are particularly proud to be one of the first hotels in Germany to replace disposable plastic in guest rooms and bathrooms with sustainable alternatives”, emphasises Dominik G. Reiner, General Manager Mandarin Oriental, Munich.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

By helicopter to the hotels on Lake Geneva or Como<\/h4>\n

In September, after the Corona-related closure, the Mandarin Oriental Hotels in Paris and Milan also celebrated their re-launch. The hotel in Madrid will reopen in the spring of 2021 after the renovation. Meanwhile, on Lake Como, the Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como has been open again since mid-June 2020 (photo below) \u2013 and is also cooperating with the hotel in Geneva on Lake Geneva. At the “Lake-to-Lake Helicopter Experience”, guests can fly from one hotel to another for 75 minutes with a view of the Swiss-Italian lake landscape and spend one night in a suite.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And there are new travel perspectives outside Europe as well: Mandarin Oriental has just announced a strategic partnership with the Oberoi Group. The cooperation with the Indian luxury hotel chain includes a range of activities, primarily in the form of joint arrangements and selected offers for members of the “Fans of M.O.” and “Oberoi One” programs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
