“On the Canary Islands, the topic of remote work and workation has been gaining significant momentum for the past two years. With ,Nomadas La Palma’, the small island is now launching its own pilot project.”<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

600 Mbit fibre optic network meets hiking and nature mecca, a year-round holiday destination meets a year-round workation destination – with the pilot project “Nomadas La Palma”, the island aims to create and foster a community of local businesses, institutions, islanders and people who can work from anywhere in the world. The town councils of Puntallana, San Andr\u00e9s y Sauces, Barlovento, Puntagorda and Fuencaliente, among others, are currently setting up coworking services and there are the first private shared spaces on the island. For the project, the Association for Rural Development of the Island of La Palma (ADER La Palma) is cooperating with the Ministry of Tourism of the volcanic island.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"The greenest island of the Canary Islands wants to score points not only with high-speed internet and the London time zone, but also with the sports and excursion possibilities, because La Palma with its different landscapes looks like a miniature continent. In this sense, the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and two nature parks with an extensive network of hiking trails, as well as the black sand beaches in Puerto de Tazacorte or Echentive, are alluring.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

La Palma airport is a 15-minute drive from the capital Santa Cruz de la Palma. There are direct flights from here to Munich, Frankfurt, D\u00fcsseldorf, Hamburg, Zurich, London and Madrid, among others. The neighbouring islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife are also easy to reach thanks to regional flight and ferry connections.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
