“Since January, members of the GHA Discovery loyalty programme have been able to use the industry’s first digital reward currency. For the first time, this is also possible without an overnight stay in a hotel.”

The Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) is an association of independent hotel brands with more than 500 hotels in 85 countries, including Kempinski, JA Resorts & Hotels and, since January 2022, the approximately 360 hotels of the NH Hotel Group with brands such as Anantara, Tivoli and NH Hotels.

In 2021, the Alliance relaunched its loyalty programme GHA Discovery, which now brings three innovations in particular for the new year: a higher number of benefits, extended status levels and the option to redeem rewards for various services and benefits in hotels and resorts not only when travelling, but also in the nearest hotel without an overnight stay.

The latter means that with the new “Live Local” offer, the approximately 11 million members also receive access to the gym, pool, hotel beach, etc. without staying in a room, as well as discounted prices on meals or wellness in the hotel. They can also book adventure tours in the local area, from cultural events to courses and nature expeditions.

Earn Discovery Dollars

Discovery Dollars (D$) can be earned instantly with every type of booking and redeemed for future room bookings and upgrades, as well as for spa treatments or dinners at the hotel.

The enhanced Silver, Gold, Platinum and Titanium membership levels can in turn be more easily achieved through more flexible criteria and through the various new ways of earning Discovery Dollars. Titanium members can share their status with a person of their choice.
