Desk via Lufthansa

“Spontaneously rent a workspace anywhere on the globe? Lufthansa has launched Lufthansa Global Space as a work-from-anywhere solution and is now testing it worldwide for three months.”

Lufthansa Global Spaces was developed at the Lufthansa Innovation Hub (LIH) and sees itself as a platform for travelers who want to book a hot desk, private office space or meeting rooms in an uncomplicated way while on the road. At www.lh-globalspaces.com, interested parties can find various workspaces, including primarily coworking spaces, but also hotels, etc. They can search by location and opening hours. They can be filtered by location including opening hours, equipment, lead time and ratings. Reservations, bookings and the subsequent check-in and check-out are made directly via the website, whereby Lufthansa cooperates with the booking platform Hubli, which has a worldwide network of 185,000 locations.

Associated overnight accommodations are also possible. For the current three-month test phase, the cities of Berlin, Munich, Barcelona, Singapore and New York are in the programme. If the new work-from-anywhere programme is successful, the worldwide rollout is planned.

Pushing the trend

“Travellers today are often on the road for longer periods of time and sometimes work ‘remotely’. We are convinced that this trend will only continue to grow,” says Christine Wang, Managing Director of the Lufthansa Innovation Hub, and adds: “We want to enable travelers to have as seamless and pleasant a travel experience as possible, even beyond flying. Today, this also includes making it possible to work from anywhere. The future of work is flexible and, in many cases, location-independent – and we want to help shape that future.”

Miles & More participants, by the way, can book the desired workplaces via their Miles & More account and collect an additional 500 award miles when they use the service for the first time. For every euro paid, another mile is credited.
